Kukicha is a type of Japanese green tea that is made with the stems of the of young tea leaves. These stems are lightly sweet in flavor and produce a vibrant green cup of tea with a soft, floral aroma. The tea stems contain a higher concentration of L-theanine and less caffeine than traditional green tea, making Kukicha a more relaxing tea that can be enjoyed anytime of the day.

Steeping Instructions

We recommend steeping 2 tsp of Kukicha for 2 minutes with 8 oz of 175℉ water. This tea can (and should) be steeped multiple times. Simply add 1 additional minute of steeping time for each re-steep. Let the second cup steep for 3 minutes, and the third cup should steep for 4 minutes. You can continue to re-steep your Kukicha until the tea runs out of flavor.
