Steep your tea with a little something extra

Winter is knocking on the door up here in Northern Michigan, and now is the perfect time of the year to treat yourself to a warm cocktail. If you drink as much tea as we do here at Lamie Wellness, you have probably wondered if you can use hot tea to make a delicious cocktail. Of course, you can! Here are 3 tea-infused cocktail recipes that are easy to make at home and are sure to keep your toasty all winter long.

1. Black Tea and Irish Cream

If you enjoy Irish coffee, this warm tea cocktail is sure to be your new favorite. Start off by brewing up some strong black tea. We recommend using our Cinnamon Roll black tea. This is a bold Assam black tea that is blended with smooth cinnamon chips and hand-cut Madagascar vanilla bean. Use 2-4 teaspoons of loose leaf tea and let it steep for 5 minutes in 8 oz. of 200℉ water (not quite boiling). Once the tea is done steeping, add 2 oz. of your favorite Irish cream and top it off with some whipped cream!

Alternative tea-infused recipe: try substituting the Irish cream for Fireball and RumChata!

2. Lemon Ginger and Bourbon

We recently shared this recipe on our Instagram (@lamiewellness), and many of our followers were eager to try it for themselves. If you enjoy drinking green tea or bourbon, this tea-infused cocktail is a must-try. The first ingredient you will need is our Lemon Ginger green tea. Let 2 teaspoons of tea steep in 8 oz. of 175℉ water (lightly steaming) for 3 minutes. When the tea is ready, add 1 tablespoon of honey, the juice from half of a lemon and 2 oz. of your favorite bourbon. Stir gently and serve warm with a lemon wedge!

3. Green Tea and Vodka

There are not many cocktails that are more refreshing than vodka and soda water. If you are looking for a new way to mix up this classic cocktail, try using green tea instead of soda water. We recommend using a fruity green tea, like our Raspberry Green tea. Start by steeping 2 teaspoons of green tea in 8 oz. of 175 ℉ water (lightly steaming) for 3 minutes. Once the tea is done steeping, remove the leaves and add 2 oz. of your favorite vodka. Finish with a splash of cranberry juice and some fresh raspberries!

We hope you have some fun experimenting with these tea-infused cocktail recipes! All of these recipes can be made with iced tea if you prefer cold cocktails. Feel free to get creative with our tea and share your recipes with us in the comments below. Cheers!
